Effects of chitin nanofiber application on plant growth and its differences by soil type

Large numbers of crab shells are disposed as food waste in the processing process. Chitin nanofiber (CNF) refers to chitin extracted from form ultrafine fibers that enable uniform dispersion water. We explored feasibility using CNF materials plant growth promoters. investigated effects application with fertilizer and its various methods on komatsuna cultivated Entisols Andosols materials. The surface had growth-promoting both Andosols. topdressing treatment was more effective promoting Entisols. inorganic nitrogen content absorbed by plants lower than basal treatments because added during latter half cultivation period not fully decomposed before completion cultivation. calcium CNF/protein/calcium carbonate higher treatments, indicating encasing plants. promoted utilization efficiency growth.
